Incoming Directors

Rosalba Barragan

Rosalba Barragan is a married mother of 3 with a background in communications.

Recently, she has made a career choice to return to college and obtain her teaching credential at San Diego State University. As a history major with a minor in psychology, her hope is to teach junior high school students like her father once did with the San Diego Unified School District for over 30 years.

Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, Rosalba will continue her studies in psychology and enter the Ph.D. program to study cognitive and behavioral neuroscience. Her son, who was the inspiration for this life changing career choice, has Tourette Syndrome. Diagnosed at 4 years of age, it was the Head Start program that enabled him to obtain the quality care and education he needed to help him succeed and thrive as he entered Kindergarten.

Rosalba says she owes a debt of gratitude to Mrs. Kandy Livesley and the staff for their empathy, compassion and love they showed all students, including her son. Rosalba believes in the core values the NHA stands for and in turn, has dedicated herself to giving back to the organization that has done so much for her son as a Staff Parent Advisory Committee representative, NHA Policy Council representative and NHA Board of Directors parent representative.
