Criteria for Nomination to
Wall of Honor
Nomination forms must be submitted to the Wall of Honor Committee and received by the Alumni Office no later than June 1st. Any nomination forms received after June 1st will automatically be considered for the following year.Nominations for this year’s Wall of Honor will be accepted exclusively through the ONLINE APPLICATION.
While the form may seem a bit intimidating at first, we have organized it into an easy step-by-step format to help guide you through the process. READY TO BEGIN? - Part 1 – History of Leadership and Service
At SDHS, the nominee demonstrated leadership and service through activities that supported fellow students, school staff, the campus community, and/or the greater SDHS community. As an SDHS graduate, the nominee may also have contributed to activities benefiting fellow alumni in alignment with the Mission Statement of the Alumni Association. Written nominations for Part 1 should include specific examples of leadership, participation, quality of service, and length of commitment. - Part 2 – Alumni Association Member
As an SDHS alumnus, the nominee has actively supported alumni activities within their graduating class, served in leadership roles within the Alumni Association and/or SDHS Foundation activities, or contributed meaningfully to successful community-based organizations in California or elsewhere. Written nominations for Part 2 should highlight examples of participation, sustained involvement, leadership, and measurable success over time. Examples provided in this section should not duplicate those described in Part 1. - Part 3 – Community Activities
The nominee has demonstrated leadership and/or long-term active involvement resulting in significant accomplishments within their profession and/or through voluntary service that advances the goals of a community organization. Written nominations should describe the nominee’s profession or occupation and explain the significance and impact of their contributions. Examples may include long-term involvement with the Alumni Association, distinguished educational leadership, excellence in the medical profession, or meaningful volunteer and leadership service within the community. - Part 4 – Public Service
The nominee has achieved accomplishments at the state, national, or international level that are exceptional in both quality and scope. These accomplishments may extend beyond professional responsibilities and should clearly demonstrate performance or contributions that are superior, highly impactful, and well above average within their field. Written nominations may include, but are not limited to, examples such as elected political leadership, religious leadership, philanthropy, or outstanding support of the SDHS Foundation and/or Alumni Association. - Part 5 – Other Achievements
The nominee has demonstrated exceptional experience, talent, performance, contributions, or accomplishments in an area not previously addressed in Parts 1–4. Qualifications in this category represent achievement of the highest caliber, reflecting extraordinary ability, influence, or impact that clearly distinguishes the individual from their peers. Examples may include, but are not limited to, recipients of major awards, Olympians, national record holders, all-stars, or distinguished authors. - Part 6 – Personal Information
Include selected personal information about the nominee, such as interests, hobbies, family, and other meaningful background details that help provide a fuller picture of the individual.
